Project Achievement for 7th-12th graders

This is a weekend competition at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in early February.? This competition teaches resume building skills, public speaking, and presentation skills.? We start working during the summer portfolio building activities and on the speech in Novemebr and finish in February.? If our high school competitors win at this level, they will win the opportunity to represent Southwest District at State 4-H Congress in Atlanta and compete for Master 4-H Status. 12th grade students who compete at DPA receive a 4-H graduation cord. Also at this event, 7th and 9th-11th graders will have the opportunity to run for a District Officer position to represent Lee County and Southwest District.? You must complete a 2 minute campaign speech and posters.? Let us know if you are interested!

SAFE Shooting Sports

Lee County 4-H is the proud home of an award winning 4-H Shotgun Team.? This team is open to 6th -12th graders.? Registration will begin in November.? The shooter must complete a Hunter's Safety Course to compete.? Practices will begin in February and are typically 2 days a week.? The season ends on Mother’s Day weekend with the state match at Rock Eagle 4-H Center.


May 3rd: State Outdoor Archery Match May 9th: Vidalia Onion Orders can be picked up May 10th: State Modified Trap Match May 14-16: 4-H Agent will be out of the office  May 19th: Parent Camp Orientation 6 - 7PM Parents will receive all the necessary paperwork and information for 4-H Camp.  May 27th: Camper Orientation Day 2 - 5:30PM An afternoon of camp activities and instructions to get students excited May 28th: Jr/Sr Meeting 3:30- 5:30 PM

Junior Conference

Junior Conference is a two day recreational and educational opportunity planned for 4-H’ers in the 6th through 8th grades. The 2026 date will be announced soon.? The weekend includes a mix of workshops and education sessions, along with opportunities for community service and exhibits, planned by and led by the Junior Board of Directors.? Recreational programs for 4-H’ers are included to allow 4-H’ers to interact with youth from all over Georgia.? Educational workshops, community service, and recreation are led by high school-aged teen leaders. If you would like to attend or apply to teach a class, please contact us!


Outdoor Classroom

We offer valuable information and curriculum to the 4th and 5th graders in Lee County.? Thank you to our partnerships with Twin Oaks Elementary and Lee County Elementary, along with some community partners, we are able to offer the youth in those schools education through an outdoor classroom.? These past few years, we taught and participated in the Great Pollinator Census.? We are looking forward to a fun and educational year!

4-H Resources

County offices promote and coordinate 4-H summer camp experiences unlike any other in the county. Counties travel to unique 4-H centers across the state offering fun, friendship and adventure for over 8,000 4-H'ers each summer.
The Georgia 4-H Environmental Education Program is one of the nation’s largest and oldest providers of local environmental education, serving over 45,000 people annually. The research-based curriculum provides hands-on learning experiences aligned with Georgia Performance Standards.
The Georgia 4-H Livestock Program gives students the opportunity to practice and acquire new knowledge in the fields of animal science, business, time management and leadership.
This core program showcases the work and success of 4-H'ers through presentations and portfolios on numerous topics. Members compete against their peers at the local, district and state levels in an effort to master their project.

Project S.A.F.E. (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) is a curriculum based and designed to assist young people in personal development, establish a personal environmental ethic and explore life-long vocational and avocational activities.
