Our Impact

Making A Difference in Our County

University of Georgia Cooperative Extension is working hard for its' constituents. The following are examples of Extension’s impact in the county over the past year.

4-H

More than 1,400 Walker County 4-H'ers participated in public speaking, livestock projects, shooting sports, community service and summer camps. The 4-H robotics program competed in 2024 VEX robotics competitions.


Family and Consumer Sciences


The Walker County Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) educated 279 youth and adults in a variety of topics including diet quality, food budgeting, food safety and physical activity.

Agriculture and Natural Resources

Walker County Agriculture and Natural Resources supported citizens and the agricultural community with educational efforts reaching over 5,000 clients.? ANR provides classes, farm and site visits, commodity meetings, testing for soil, forage, and water samples and results interpretation, field days, and festivals.
