Our Impact
Making A Difference in Our County
University of Georgia Cooperative Extension is working hard for its constituents. The following are examples of Extension’s impact in Pulaski County over the past year.
PULASKI COUNTY
Pulaski Extension collaborated across all three program areas to implement a 4-H day camp using the "Farm toFork" curriculum to reach and impact youth. Combining 4-H with the programming efforts of Family and Consumer Sciences and Agriculture and Natural Resources, it provided knowledge to students on nutritional, educational, and agricultural aspects of food access. Timley harvest of a peanut crop is crucial for maximum yield and grade.?
The Agriculture and Natural Resources agent checked over 200 peanut samples for maturity in 2024, representing a conservative estimate of 60% - or 6,3000 acres - of Pulaski County's peanut crop. The estimated benefit of this sampling to Pulaski County peanut producers is $1.9 million.
