What is Project S.A.F.E. ?

4-H Project S.A.F.E. (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) Programs are designed to help our youth develop unique life skills that will allow them to learn safe and responsible firearm practices as well as sound decision-making skills, self-discipline, and concentration.

The program promotes responsibility, decision-making and identifying realistic, personal goals. Participants may elect to compete at a level appropriate for their abilities or pursue other objectives. Participants have shown high achievement in the field, shop or classroom and on target range, but personal development for young people and leaders is the real objective. The program strives to "make the best better."

Like other 4-H projects, S.A.F.E. has a subject matter base. It has strong links to natural resources, wildlife, outdoor recreation and safety. The content is drawn from sports medicine, psychology, education, biological and physical sciences engineering, mathematics, technology, as well as American traditions, folklore and history.

4-H Archery

Our Forsyth County Archery Team is going to be structured a little differently in 2025-2026. This year we will split the program into two seasons. In July 2025 we will register for our indoor season which runs from August 2025-January 2026. The archers will spend this season practicing for the single distance they will shoot at our annual indoor match at the Georgia State Fairgrounds in January. In December we will open registration for our spring season (January-May 2026) where the archers will focus on the multiple distances they will shoot at our annual outdoor match at Rock Eagle 4-H Center (May 2, 2026). The cost for each season will be $110. As always, if your child is already on the team, you have a guaranteed spot on the team for all seasons in the future, as long as they return for each season.

In 2025-2026 registration for new Archers will open on July 15, 2025, at 7:30AM. Completion of this process does not guarantee your child's spot on the team! There are very limited spots for new team members and this online process ensures they are filled in the order of registrations received. Historically, the open spots for new archers are filled within the first 30 minutes of registration opening. You will receive an email from forsythcounty4h@uga.edu informing if your child has a spot or is on our wait-list.

The link for registration will be posted here closer to the opening of sign-ups.

Forsyth County 4-H is excited to resume the S.A.F.E. Shooting Sports BB Team in 2024! The Forsyth County BB Team is a volunteer run program. All of our coaches have been certified by 成人影院 to teach youth. The program is open to 4th-9th grade students in the current school year. Each child is scored individually and the scores are totaled to make a team
score. Each shooter has the opportunity to place in competitions individually or as a team depending on their final scores/team total score.
We practice on Tuesday evenings, 7-8pm, at our 5110 Piney Grove Road office. This club requires a parent stay and assist their child during practice. No drop-offs are permitted. Our 2024-2025 team is capped at eight youths. In the future we may expand the number of youth who can participate.
