Congratulations to the Cook Bullseye Busters for winning 1st place at the 4-H Southeast District Qualifiers Match this past weekend! We are so proud of them and thankful for all of our amazing coaches, parents, volunteers, and most importantly - our 4-H youth!
They are STATE BOUND!!!
Georgia 4-H turned Atlanta green at this year's Georgia 4-H Day at the Capitol??. This program provides the opportunity for 4-H youth to experience the legislative process, meet with their elected officials (thank you Representative Jaclyn Ford), and learn the importance of being civically engaged. In a record turnout, Georgia 4-H had over 800 4-H'ers, staff, and state officials in attendance.?We would like to thank Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation for their generous sponsorship of this event!

Cook County 4-H is incredibly proud of Fletcher Daughtrey for his outstanding performance at the Georgia National Junior Livestock Show in Perry, GA, last week! ?? Fletcher showcased his hard work and dedication in the show ring, earning:
? Reserve Champion COB
? 3rd High % Simmental
? 4th Crossbred Heifer
Way to go, Fletcher! Your passion and commitment to your livestock project are inspiring. Keep up the great work! ??
Growing up in 4-H is one of my proudest achievements! One of my favorite events by far was District Project Achievement. This past weekend Cook County took 16 student to Rock Eagle to compete in a competition that build leadership, communication, and broadens the horizon for many aspects of life. (Needless to say I am very proud of them all)
One of the traditions we used to do in my home county (Ware) was to take a picture at a very specific tree by the Rock Eagle Mound. When the tradition started in 2016, I was to young to participate, however I got to see my brother and sister both grow through pictures at that same tree. When I got older I was finally able to take my picture at that tree. That spot has seen me lose and seen me win but through it all it has shown many Ware County 4-Hers the importance of growth and development. Now all that remains is remnants of a once well defined tree but it represents the development of youth in this amazing program. The tree shows that although we as studentsdents grow up and eventually out of 4-H the place we shared stays the same and it drives home the ideal of us growing in 4-H I am happy to have brought this tradition to my new county home.
Keep making 4-H shine Cook County! Y’all are doing awesome!?
4-H'er Anna Cook presents a speech about Birds as Champion Animals.? And 4-H'er Bella Cain presents her speech on Housing.? 4-H Agent Katrina & 4-H PA Christopher (Critter) attended State Congress to help guide and support these great young ladies at this event in Atlanta Ga., July 23-26, 2024.
Poultry Team 2024 has practice three days a week? beginning Feb. March and? early April, after school from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Cook Co. Extension Office.? Americorps member Kathryn Maxwell, 4-H PA? Critter Kuhbander & 4-H Agent Katrina Searcy holds these practices. Competition is April 15th, in Tifton, Ga. at the County Extension Office.
Sr. 4-H'er Kallie Gaskins wins Gold Medal in Alternate Prone Position & Silver in Standing Position at the Nationals in Rogers, Arkansas. Cook County won Most Patriotic 2023 Daisy Nationals CONTEST. Congratulations Cook Co. 4-H BB TEAM for great 2023 year.
